CORINNE DEIGHTON
Childhood and Education
Corinne grew up on a dairy farm on the Darling Downs in Queensland. After high school, she completed a ten month exchange program in Japan, before studying Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Arts (Japanese) degrees at the University of Queensland. Here she met her husband Hayden.
Career
In 2001 Corinne started working in a firm of Chartered Accountants in Springwood, and this is where she met Leanne! Corinne completed her Graduate Diploma with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in 2004. Leanne and Corinne worked together until 2005 when Hayden's work took the Deightons to Bunbury in WA.
Family
Corinne's been blessed with four children. Aside from running Hot Octopus, she homeschools! There's always plenty going on, including music lessons, tap dancing, netball, soccer, swimming and tennis.
Hot Octopus
After working locally in Bunbury for a year or two, Corinne took the plunge and opened her own practice in 2008, Hot Octopus, to enable her to stay at home with her kids, and continue to do what she loved professionally - helping people with their tax. After many years of talking about it, Leanne joined Corinne in July 2020 and they haven't looked back! In May 2022, Corinne has moved back to Brisbane and is looking forward to continuing to service clients in Bunbury, Brisbane or anywhere in between!
LEANNE JAMIESON
Childhood and Education
A Brisbane southsider all her life, Leanne wouldn't have it any other way. She met her husband, Craig, in high school (yes high school sweethearts!) . Together, they both attended Queensland University of Technology, where Leanne completed a Bachelor of Business degree, majoring in Accountancy.
Career
Leanne commenced her working career in 1999. She completed her Graduate Diploma with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in 2005. Leanne was very sad when Hayden took Corinne away to WA in that year! During her 20+ years with the firm of Chartered Accountants, she progressed from graduate accountant to assistant manager. Leanne gained experience in many different aspects of tax and had a broad client portfolio.
Family
Leanne and Craig have two beautiful children. The family enjoys time at home, particularly in the pool with friends and family. Pre covid, they enjoyed many adventures with the Deightons travelling to various destinations throughout Australia. They hope to travel again together soon!
Hot Octopus
After much encouragement and support from Corinne, Leanne joined Hot Octopus in July 2020 and is loving every minute of it! Hot Octopus has allowed Leanne great flexibility with her kids while also allowing her to connect with wonderful clients and work (have fun!) with Corinne once again.
